Leuprorelin Hormone Therapy for Prostate and Breast Cancer
Detailed Description
Central Precocious Puberty:
Leuprorelin injection, known as Lupron Depot-PED, is used in children aged 2 years and older to treat central precocious puberty (CPP). CPP is a condition in which girls (usually younger than 8 years of age) and boys (usually younger than 9 years of age) enter puberty prematurely. Leuprorelin helps regulate the timing of puberty by slowing down the rapid bone growth and development of sexual characteristics associated with CPP.
Other Clinical Uses:
Leuprorelin injection, also known as Lupron Depot, is utilized in the treatment of endometriosis and anemia caused by uterine fibroids. It works by decreasing the levels of certain hormones in the body, offering relief from symptoms such as pain, heavy or irregular menstruation, and anemia. Additionally, leuprorelin can be used as a medical pre-treatment before endometrial resection, as it thins the endometrium, reduces edema, and facilitates the surgical procedure.
